MAKAAM Maharashtra associated with the Women Cane Cutters’ Organization (Mahila Ustod Kamgar Sanghatana) has developed innovative health models to address the challenges faced by women cane cutters. These include the inclusion of representatives in Jan Arogya Samitis (local health committees) and the Arogya Sakhi (Health Companion) model, which provides basic healthcare and reduces medical costs during the cane-cutting season.
The December 2024 edition of Moli magazine features study reports and inspiring success stories of Jan Arogya Samiti members and Arogya Sakhis, highlighting the impact of these grassroots initiatives in improving healthcare access for women cane cutters.
