This consultation was organised by SOPPECOM in collaboration with Pune University’s Gender Studies Department and MAKAAM. Participants came from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Punjab. The consultation aimed to discuss the gendered impact of farm suicides, foster cross-learning, and develop advocacy strategies for a comprehensive policy response. Key objectives included analyzing farm suicide data, reframing the issue from a gendered perspective, identifying research areas, and formulating actionable demands to support women in affected regions. Outcomes included state-specific fact sheets, policy briefs, and a strategy paper to address these challenges.
